Week 4

Whilst the visiting family was spending a few days visiting Niagara & Toronto, we had a few quiet days at home.

When the wanderers returned we had a few further quiet days at home, as well as one day trip to Parc Omega & also a Thanksgiving lunch.

Week 3

This past week we had visited Montreal, the 1000 Islands & the Parliament buildings here in Ottawa.

Here are a few pictures from this past week:

Week 2

The reason we had been to Dr McConville's office those 3 times was due to Sarah's weight gain, in that it took a while for her to gain her birth weight back. Even by the end of the 3rd visit I was told that she had only gained back to 7lb 8oz, (From the 7lb 2oz she was when discharged from the hospital). But Dr McConville was happy enough with the difference from the previous visit that he said he would see us in 2 months :D Hooray!

So, other than the whole weight issue, nothing new really happend, but by the end of this week Sarah had met her Aunty Rhoda, Uncle Haydn & Grandad Bentley.

Week 1

At just one week old Sarah had already lived in two houses, had visited Dr McConville 3 times, and had already heard Pastor Ryan preach!

Here is Sarah with Mommy at her first house (aka: Nana & Grandads) and then with Daddy in her second house - 10 Calaveras Ave.

She also met her Uncle Mike and cousin Madisyn this week. Madi is now about 4 months old. These two will have lots of fun as they continue to grow and spend time together :D

Well she eventually made it... 5 very long days overdue (for Mommy at least) but Sarah Paige Bentley arrived at 01.24am on Septmeber 9th.

Weighing in at 7lb 13oz, 20.5 inches long this very healthy bundle brings our little family to three!!

Daniel and I feel very blessed with such a beautiful baby girl and cannot wait to experience every stage as she continues to grow...

Labour went well, a total of 6 hours, contractions started at approx 7.30pm on Monday the 8th, and Sarah was born the following morning. As much as I had intended for a natural birth with as little drugs as possible, at aprox 11pm the epidural was the only option left and was very welcomed once it took effect :D
Mom, Dad, and Sarah are settling into their new roles and new house nicely, have been extremely supported by family and friends (who always seem to arrive with food which is wonderful!!) and are eagarly awaiting the arrival of family from the UK next weekend!!!
Stay tuned for more pictures soon!!! xx

Well today has come and gone (well almost) and there is still no sign of baby girl Bentley :(
I have to say that I am quite disapointed as even though I expected to go past my due date I was secretly hoping that she might arrive on time. Daniel is now more than ever convinced that she is like me since she's late although I don't agree with that...!!!

Anyways... so the news is, there is no news... hopefully she won't keep us waiting too much longer.. I'll try to keep this as up to date as possible from here on out..

These are the scan pics from this morning. 36wks 4 days...

The doctor wanted me to go for the scan because I was measuring smaller than a previous week but the ultrasound technician said that she is approx 7lbs already so hopefully theres nothing to worry about at all... I'm grateful of another look at our baby girl though :D

So.. Only 4 more weeks and baby girl Bentley is considered to term!! (37 wks) I cannot believe where the time has gone!!

Yesterday was the 33 week mark so only 7 weeks until 'D' day! - Someone suggested that I get the hospital bag packed, just in case!!

We can't wait until she arrives, but there still seems so much to do! Hopefully everything will come together just in time.

Last weekend Daniel and I bought some new wheels... the stroller kind!!

After getting it home Daniel spent the next 20 minutes or so putting it all together and then we spent the following hours putting it up, and down... and up and down again... Small things amuse small minds.. hehe.. :D

For now we had to use Kicks (the bear) to model in it for us, but we can't wait until we can finally put baby girl Bentley in it...

Also, here is the latest bump pic (taken at 29 wks, 4 days), I'm now 30 weeks and 2 days.. and counting :P .... only 10(ish) more to go..

Latest pics, 25 weeks 2 days :D I think someone is growing.. (ok, maybe we both are?!)

Monday, May 19, 2008

Today I am 24 weeks and 4 days and, I know I've been saying this for what might seems like weeks now, but baby girl Bentley is definatley growing now, she must be on a growth spurt or something as things around my mid section are starting to feel tighter and tighter with each passing day!

Today is Victoria Day and I had to cover the department- meaning I was the only one in work apart from a few engineers and a couple of tech support guys, oh and of course baby Bentley! - She kept me entertained for most of the day wriggling around and I think kicking my lowest ribs as this evening they are feeling a little tender!

I also got an email today from my sister-in-law saying that she, my brother in law and my father in-law have booked their flights for the end of September so that they can come and see their new niece/grand-daughter. Exciting times ahead!

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Well today was our 20 week scan and it was our first ever look at baby Bentley and it was unreal! As much as we knew this was really happening for us, today was awesome. Here are a few pictures from this afternoon.

Oh.. and it turns out that baby Bentley is a girl!!! - So much for Daniel's confidence in it being a boy!! We're thrilled just to know that she is happy and healthy :D
Ps) the top picture in this post shows her thigh bones but her calf bones and feet are folded back and are further away so you can't see them - but they are there I promise!

Sunday, April 06, 2008

According to the babycenter.ca baby Bentley is approx 14cms long which is just as well as I feel as though I have "grown" myself this week.. albeit not that obvious maybe to passers by, things for me are certainly changing which is a great feeling.

Hopefully Daniel will feel him/her move in the next week or so... that will be the next big highlight for me, as well as hearing the babies heartbeat again on Wednesday and then finding out when we might finally see some pics of our little sprog!

These pictures were taken today/tonight - 18 weeks and 3 days :)

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

We've not really got much more of an update but I wanted to just make a note that over the last few days I am certain that I have felt the baby move much more.. which is quite re-assuring since I had some quite crazy dreams about him/her recently.

Only a couple more weeks and we will finally be able to post some pics of him/her. I have an OB appointment next Wednesday and then my next ultrasound should be the following week.

This is the latest picture that I have of "the bump" - it doesn't look much different from the last one.. but this is at nearly 18 weeks.

This website will be update with any pics that we have of our baby So be sure to book mark this page!! :)

For many of you who already knew that we are having a baby this post is quite a bit overdue and I do apologize but now that we are clear of the 3 month mark and work knows I was a little more happy to tell the world!

So... Daniel and I are expecting the arrival of Baby Bentley on/around September 4th and we couldn't be more excited!!

Unfortunately we don't have any scan pics to put up just yet :( But we have had an appointment where we heard the baby's heartbeat... how cool..?!?

The only pics we do have are bump pics... so for now this will have to suffice.

This is at 12 weeks and I am now 15 weeks... Stay tuned for updates as and when :)
